Who am I?
I am Dr.Tyler Hughes, and I teach Choir and Music Appreciation. I have a bachelors degrees from Stephen F. Austin State University and a masters of music and doctorate of musical arts from Texas Tech University. This is my third year teaching the scholars of Elgin Middle School how to sing. In addition to being a choir director, I am an accomplished composers with many of my pieces having been performed.
What I do?
I first and foremost teach scholars to sing in a choir. What I hope to do, as well, is to instill a love of music, create a sisterhood and brotherhood of choristers among my students. For me, choir requires teamwork equal to sport and I hope above all teach teamwork through music.
